On July 15, The death toll from the deadly fire tore at a Bangkok pub has risen to 32 after two more victims died from their injuries, as police continue investigating whether negligence played a role in the incident.
The fire broke out on the night of July 12 at Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a pub in Bangkok’s northern Chatuchak district. Witnesses said they heard an explosion before flames and smoke quickly spread through the building.

Videos shared online by emergency responders showed the pub on fire, with thick black smoke pouring from the entrance. People were seen running from the building as firefighters worked to control the blaze.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said officials are checking the materials used in the ceiling and whether any emergency exits were blocked, which could have made it harder for people to escape.
Early findings from disaster officials suggested the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit in an air conditioner installed in the ceiling. However, one survivor said the fire started near the stage at the front of the pub before spreading very quickly. Many people ran to the back of the building, where the kitchen and toilets were located, hoping to find a way out.
The pub is located in a busy area of northern Bangkok, close to shopping malls, cinemas, parks and the popular Chatuchak Weekend Market, which is often visited by foreign tourists.
The authorities are continuing to collect evidence and question witnesses as they investigate whether safety problems or negligence contributed to the deadly fire. It follows several deadly incidents in Thailand this year, including the January 14 crane accident in Sikhio that killed 30 and a May 16 train collision in Bangkok that resulted in eight casualties, highlighting underlying safety concerns in the country.
