Indonesia-France launch phase two of IndoKAKAO to boost production quality and empower local producers

Indonesia and France have commenced the second phase of the IndoKAKAO project, a bilateral commitment to bolster innovation for a high-quality, sustainable and inclusive cocoa sector in Indonesia. This initiative is jointly coordinated by the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD) and the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS).

Indonesia expands barter trade to curb US dollar reliance

Speaking on June 9 after an exclusive coordination meeting on food commodity price developments, Trade Minister Budi Santoso informed reporters that the government is preparing a new barter mechanism that is expected to help ease the demand for greenbacks and preserve foreign exchange reserves, as trade will not be conducted using American currency.
