Thailand clarifies observer status at Board of Peace meeting

Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that the country attended the recent Board of Peace meeting in Washington, D.C. in an observer capacity, represented by its Ambassador to the United States. The clarification follows public attention over an image showing the Thai national flag displayed at the event.

The ministry stated that the host displayed the national flags of all participating countries on the backdrop, regardless of whether they joined as full members or observers. Thailand’s role at the meeting was limited strictly to observer status.
