Indonesian E-Commerce Enabler AHA Commerce Expands to Thailand with 20% Growth Guarantee

Indonesia-based e-commerce enabler AHA Commerce has officially expanded its operations into Thailand, marking its very first regional expansion into the wider Southeast Asian market.

On August 21, the enabler established an official local entity (AHA Commerce (Thailand) Co., Ltd.) and fully deployed its operations across the Thai market. The expansion followed a successful pilot that AHA Commerce previously launched in September 2025, which reportedly yielded an explosive 221% growth in turnover.

Chief Executive Officer of AHA Commerce Stephen Lawrence underscored that “expansion into Thailand goes beyond entering a new market. It demonstrates that the business model and systems developed in Indonesia can be successfully applied in other countries.”

Through the newly established Thailand branch, AHA Commerce utilises a hybrid operational framework, with the Thai team being specifically tasked to handle market strategies and local consumer behaviour trends, whilst the Indonesian tech hub provides deep background system support, infrastructure, as well as overarching data-driven expertise.

Andre Chouw, Chief Business Officer and Co-Founder of AHA Commerce, explained that such a hybrid system is crucial for the adaptation process. “We are not entering Thailand with operational experience alone; we are bringing a system that has been developed and tested over many years. Its implementation must, of course, be adapted to consumer behaviour, marketplace characteristics, and the needs of each brand in Thailand. The underlying principles remain the same, but the execution must be relevant to local market conditions,” he noted.

Notably, AHA Commerce is introducing its proprietary AHABOT™ AI Marketing system to Thailand, aiming to leverage data-driven analytics in optimising campaign management and product promotions.

This expansion includes a performance guarantee for Thai operations, promising a minimum 20% sales increase or a waiver of commission fees. According to Andre, this commitment isn’t merely a marketing strategy, but rather showcases the company’s confidence in the systems they have developed and perfected.

What does this mean for business?

For years, Indonesia was primarily seen as a target market for foreign tech companies looking to capture its massive population of over 270 million. This expansion reflects an optimistic reversal of that trend, proving that some Indonesian tech firms have matured past domestic survival to become regional exporters of proprietary software. AHA Commerce’s success in applying its Indonesian data frameworks to Thailand demonstrates that e-commerce behaviours across Southeast Asia are converging. By combining a remote Indonesian technical engine with a native Thai front-end team, it establishes a viable blueprint for how Southeast Asian companies can scale efficiently without incurring the massive overhead of duplicating entire corporate structures in every new territory.
