On May 23, Porsche Centre Brunei commenced its Saturdays@Porsche initiative. Themed “Porsche Classic Day”, the exhibition showcased the enduring allure of Porsche Classic collections, which remained on display until May 30.

Organised by German-headquartered Porsche in collaboration with QAF Group’s subsidiary, Porsche Brunei, the gathering hosted sport car enthusiasts and local Porsche communities for a full day of “classic experiences”. The event allowed attendants to gain first-hand experience into the vehicles’ timeless design and engineering.

Deputy General Manager of Porsche Brunei Daniel Loo stated that the event is truly “a special occasion,” adding, “it is an opportunity to honour the craftsmanship, innovation and passion that have defined Porsche for over seven decades”.

The showcase featured five Porsche vehicles, with the curated line up representing 40 years of brand history.

First on display was the 1994 Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 S Flachbau, iconic for its slant nose inspired by Porsche Motorsport. Second on the line was the 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo, a premier grand tourer of the era celebrated for its near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution that rendered it one of the most balanced sports cars of its generation. Parked next to it was the 1994 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupé, encapsulating the brand’s original identity as the final generation of air-cooled 911s. Alongside it was the 2010 Porsche 997 Turbo, which introduced the first series production petrol engine utilising turbochargers with variable turbine geometry (VTG). The showcase concluded with the 2003 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the brand’s inaugural sport utility vehicle (SUV), engineered to combine the practical space of a utility vehicle with signature sports-car performance

These vehicles were meticulously chosen to honor the exceptional engineering and signature styling that cemented their status as true classics.

Daniel Loo explained that such an event is a meaningful way of “bringing the Porsche community closer together and creating memories that last a lifetime”.
