Indonesia to serveIndonesia has accepted a US offer to serve as Deputy Commander of the proposed International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza, Major General Jasper Jeffers announced at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington D.C. on February 19. The force is expected to deploy across five sectors of Gaza, with Indonesia preparing up to 8,000 troops, though no timetable has been confirmed. The ISF aims to field 20,000 troops and 12,000 police under a UN-endorsed framework.
President Donald Trump thanked participating nations, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, for committing personnel as well as support. Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania have pledged troops, while Egypt and Jordan will train police.
