On June 24, the Port of Singapore has once again secured international recognition after being named Best Global Seaport at the 2026 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards. The award ceremony took place in Shanghai, China, marking the fifth occasion that Singapore has received the distinction.

The AFLAS Awards are organised annually by Asia Cargo News and celebrate outstanding performance across the freight, logistics and supply chain sectors. The awards honour companies and organisations that demonstrate high standards of service, operational reliability and industry innovation. Winners are selected through a voting process involving freight forwarders, logistics providers and customers from around the world who are readers of the publication.

Singapore’s latest achievement highlights the port’s continued importance within global trade networks. As one of the world’s busiest maritime hubs, the port has a key role in connecting shipping routes and facilitating international commerce. The recognition comes amid a rapidly changing logistics landscape, where ports are increasingly expected to adopt new technologies and strengthen supply-chain resilience.

Responding to the award, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Chief Executive Ang Wee Keong expressed appreciation to industry stakeholders for their continued support and trust. He noted that the achievement reflects the combined efforts of Singapore’s wider maritime community in maintaining the country’s standing as a leading international port.

Ang Wee Keong also emphasised that Singapore remains committed to preparing for future challenges facing the maritime and logistics sectors. He said ongoing investments in innovation, infrastructure development and workforce capabilities will help ensure the port remains competitive, well connected and adaptable to evolving global trade demands.

The latest accolade reinforces Singapore’s reputation as a major maritime centre and underlines its continued role in supporting global shipping and supply-chain operations.
