Singapore’s five wildlife parks recorded around 1,000 animal births across more than 150 species in 2025, according to Mandai Wildlife Group, marking a strong year for conservation efforts. Around 50 of the newborn species are classified as threatened on the IUCN Red List, while over 30 are part of international breeding programmes aimed at sustaining healthy genetic populations.
Notable firsts and rare arrivals included critically endangered red-shanked douc langurs, Huulien leopard geckos, as well as the first serval kittens at Singapore Zoo in 12 years. Births were also recorded across Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise and the newly opened Rainforest Wild Asia, described as a remarkable year for wildlife conservation.
