Malaysia court rejected Najib Razak’s house arrest plead

On December 22, the Malaysian court rejected ex-Prime Minister Najib Razak’s bid to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. Previously, there was a royal addendum order. But, the order does not align with Article 42 of Malaysia’s federal constitution.

Najib was convicted of committing multi-billion dollars corruption in 1MDB, a sovereign wealth fund, and will continue serving his remaining 6-year sentence.
