On January 14, a train in the Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province was hit by a crane, causing it to derail. The accident resulted in the death of 32 and dozens of injuries. Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited (ITD), which was in charge of constructing the rail, has came under scrutiny for the derailment.
Notably, the ITD was also involved in building the State Audit Office (SAO) tower in Bangkok, which tragically collapsed in May 2025.
Thai authorities have announced that they are going to conduct a thorough investigation.
