Malaysia–Türkiye deepen ties through high-level meetings

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim met Turkish President Recep Erdoğan during a three-day official visit from January 6 to 8 in Ankara. The meeting also coincided with the important Türkiye-Malaysia High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which was held on January 7.

The last meeting produced outcomes, ranging from higher education, investment to shipbuilding. Malaysia is currently Türkiye’s largest trading partner across ASEAN, a relationship which is going to be strengthened through a proposed US$10 billion bilateral trade agreement, which will push mutual economic benefit.
