Officials in Laos’ Oudomxay Province commemorated the 84th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il on February 9, underscoring enduring relations between Vientiane and Pyongyang. The event was jointly organised by the Laos–North Korea Friendship Association and the North Korean Embassy in Laos, attracting more than 500 delegates from both countries. Attendees viewed exhibitions featuring photographs, artwork, books and video presentations highlighting North Korea’s socio-economic development and state-building efforts.
Through this commemoration, both nations continue to strengthen their longstanding friendship and cooperation for mutual benefit. Following the event, the friendship association donated approximately US$4,650 to support development initiatives in Oudomxay Province.
