Indonesia to station thousands of troops in Gaza

On February 9, Indonesia’s army chief of staff, Maruli Simanjuntak stated that 5,000-8,000 troops are being prepared to join the international stabilisation force (ISF).

The ISF is part of US President Donald Trump’s security initiatives under the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG). Last year, Indonesia had trained around 20,000 troops in order to be involved in peacekeeping roles, particularly in the health services and reconstruction sectors.
