Champasak Province in southern Laos recorded strong tourism growth in 2025, welcoming nearly 730,000 visitors, 207% growth of its annual target, provincial authorities reported on February 6. The total included 286,941 domestic and 441,123 international tourists, generating more than US$94 million in revenue. Growth was driven by cultural festivals, tourism exhibitions, and promotions of key attractions such as Si Phan Don, Bolaven Plateau, and Khone Phapheng Waterfalls.
Based on this growth, authorities plan to focus on sustainable tourism and service improvements in 2026, targeting 633,822 visitors in the province and at least US$100 million in revenue. In total, Laos welcomed nearly 4.6 million tourists in 2025, exceeding government targets.
