On February 9, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s Bhumjaithai Party officially claimed victory, securing 200 seats in the 500-seat lower house as polling results near completion. The Thai Election Committee count concluded that the party won most seats in the parliament with around 65% voter turnout. This conservative victory potentially means that PM Charnvirakul would hold on to his post with Bhumjaithai predicted to secure nearly 200 seats. The progressive People’s Party trailed Bhumjaithai in second place, followed by the Pheu Party.
