Southeast Asian Foreign Ministers gather in Manila, the Philippines, on January 29 to discuss several unresolved regional issues. Theresa Lazaro, the Philippines Foreign Minister, said that there are significant challenges for global security and a ‘more complex and interconnected’ environment as ongoing tensions, civil war and border clashes occur among member states. She also reaffirmed Manila’s unquestionable commitment to international law based order, in line with ASEAN’s non-interference principles.
