On January 14, two people were killed after a construction crane collapsed onto a highway in Samut Sakhon, near Bangkok, destroying several vehicles. The accident occurred one day after another crane incident in Nakhon Ratchasima left 32 people dead and dozens injured when it fell onto a moving train. Both projects were handled by Italian-Thai Development, which has apologised and promised compensation. These incidents have raised concerns over construction safety in Thailand.
